What causes low testosterone?
While the most common cause of low testosterone is age—about a 1% per year reduction in testosterone levels beginning at the age of 30—there are other possible causes as well. Injury to the testes, certain medications—like opioids or steroids—and some conditions like metabolic disorders or inflammatory diseases can contribute to low testosterone.
