Injectables
What results can I expect?
A single BOTOX® treatment can achieve your desired results, which will generally last 3-6 months. Most patients see results within 3-5 days after treatment, though for some, BOTOX’s® effects may require 7-10 days to become visible. In that time, your facial expressions stop etching your lines and wrinkles into your skin, giving your cells a chance to repair themselves. Your lines and wrinkles diminish, and there are no frozen or overdone results at RegenMD.
What is the procedure like?
Having BOTOX® injections is no more painful than a typical pinch of a needle. We use ultra-thin needles and precise dosing to ensure you have as comfortable a treatment as possible. Our provider will thoroughly clean the treatment area(s) before injecting. Your BOTOX® session will take only 10-15 minutes, and you can return to your everyday schedule right away, though you should refrain from strenuous exercise, intense heat, or saunas for at least 12 hours post treatment.
Is there any downtime?
BOTOX® may cause some muscle weakness, vision problems, or dizziness directly following treatment for some patients. Brow and eyelid drop is rare but may occur in some patients. Allergic reactions are also rare but may occur, causing itching, redness, rashes, and asthma symptoms. Most people feel none of this and only experience some mild injection site tenderness or headache.
How is it different?
Xeomin® uses XTRACT Technology™ is a state-of-the-art manufacturing process that removes the unnecessary proteins found in many neurotoxins. Xeomin® is the only neuromodulator without unnecessary proteins. Although it’s rare, sometimes the body may mistake treatment as harmful and start making what are known as neutralizing antibodies (NAbs). It is important to note that some botulinum toxin type A products contain extra proteins that, when injected, may further increase the chance of the body making NAbs.
Am I a good candidate?
If you’re bothered by glabellar lines, the vertical lines between the brows that are sometimes called the “elevens,” Xeomin® may be the answer you’ve been looking for. This treatment is well tolerated by most adult men and women who are not allergic to Xeomin’s® ingredients. If you have an active infection in the treatment area, you should postpone treatment until it is cleared. Get started with a consultation at RegenMD.
What results can I expect?
You may see visible relaxing of your frown lines within 3-4 days of treatment with Xeomin®, which peaks around 30 days. The effects of Xeomin® can last up to 3 months before retreatment is necessary. For seasoned Xeomin® patients, the treated muscles may become accustomed to the medication, prolonging the effectiveness.
How does lip filler work?
The idea behind JUVÉDERM® lip fillers is that a thinner, more spreadable gel gives your RegendMD experienced, injector more control over the final outcome of your lip enhancement. At RegenMD, we use two JUVÉDERM® fillers to plump the lips: JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC and JUVÉDERM® Vollure™ XC. What’s the difference between them?
Both JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC and JUVÉDERM® Vollure™ are made up of hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules and contain lidocaine to make the injecting process as comfortable as possible. Their differences are subtle. Ultra XC is manufactured using the same molecular weight of HA molecules for a consistent, predictable gel perfect for beautifully enhanced lips and the correction of lines around the mouth. Vollure™ is manufactured by cross-linking high-to-low molecular weights of HA molecules, allowing for more subtle lip enhancement for patients seeking a bit less drama in their pout. Changes to the lips require precision and artistry to avoid an over-filled appearance. Having both of these JUVÉDERM® fillers available gives RegenMD everything we need to master your lip enhancement for natural and stunning results.
What is the treatment like?
The lips are an extremely sensitive area of the face, and many clients come into RegenMD slightly nervous about how the treatment will feel. Because the gel is infused with lidocaine, JUVÉDERM® lip fillers are as comfortable as possible. We also numb all of our patients with a topical anesthetic in the treatment area, to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. After your session is complete, you’ll be free to return to your regular schedule.
Is there any downtime?
No matter which dermal filler you choose, your appointment is fairly quick, usually taking about 45-60 minutes. Because of the lidocaine in the fillers, you will feel in initial pinch, then the area becomes numb, making the treatment comfortable. It’s normal to experience some injection site tenderness, swelling, or redness or bruising. Lips are a very vascular area and slight bruising is perfectly normal. These typically fade on their own in a few hours, and bruising fades within 5-7 days, but you can improve the downtime when you follow our pre and post treatment guidelines.
